You do not need much to turn a normal evening into a case night. Lighting, a good table and a few small rules change how it feels.
Set the room
Dim the main lights and use a lamp over the table. Keep the table clear except for the documents and a notepad. Put drinks on a side table so nothing spills on paper.
Pick the right people
Two to four players is the sweet spot. One keen reader and one sceptic make the best pair, because the sceptic keeps the group honest.
Snacks that do not stain
Choose dry snacks: nuts, chips, namkeen, cookies. Keep tea and chai away from the documents.
Phones down
The case is on paper. Agree that phones stay away until the final answer, then use one phone to check it on the Case Desk.
Pace the evening
Start with the first read-through together. Take a short break about halfway. Give yourselves ten minutes at the end to argue before you commit to an answer.
Date night version
Two players and one case is a good evening in. Share the reading, keep a notepad each and compare notes at the end.
Friends version
Four to six players: split into pairs, let each pair read a few documents, then come back and share what you found.
